Codou, Fary, and Baye Zale reflect each day on the journey they have traveled. Behind their lives lies the silent struggle of a mother: Kéwé, widowed far too soon. Illiterate, Kéwé single-handedly bore the burden of the household, taking on numerous odd jobs and sacrificing her dreams to protect and raise her three children.
