This isn't really much of a gay movie, although there is that element to it. The focus is on a high school senior who is on the swim team when he learns that he has a medical condition that forces him to quit the team. There is a member of the team that confesses that he loves him and also his childhood best friend who seems to also be in love with him, but we aren't totally sure. At no time during the movie do we learn the main character's orientation. When the other guy confesses, he just walks away. The movie had the potential to be great, but in reality, it just wasted the potential. There are three scenes where it leans to what should have been very emotional moments, but each time it just cuts away. It also doesn't really have an ending. It gets to what should be another emotional scene and then cuts to the credits without resolving any plots in the story. If you stay watching, after the credits there is a post-credit scene set in the near future that shows that the three of them are all friends now (where there had been some tension before), but again nothing was really resolved, it just showed them hanging out together as a group.
